Australian police have suspended the search for a four-year-old who has been disappeared in the remote area for approximately several weeks, after renewed efforts failed to find any evidence of the youngster.

Gus Lamont was spotted engaging outside his home on a remote sheep station in the vicinity of Yunta, about 186 miles from Adelaide, on late September.

His grandmother left him alone for about thirty minutes before checking on him, only to realize the youngster nowhere to be found, prompting one of the biggest comprehensive searches in local history.

Present Position

Police - who do not suspect wrongdoing - say they will carry on looking into, but that the case has become a "search for recovery".

Last week, police briefly wound down the hunt, only to resume it on recently alongside 80 defense staff.
