The Simpsons Arrives in Rocket League: But It's Not the Car You're Dreaming Of
We already knew that the iconic animated series was teaming up with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole destination where fans can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. That said, if gamers will actually want to use it is a different matter, as there's only one Simpsons vehicle everyone is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.
The Dream Vehicle
While many players would undoubtedly love to compete behind the wheel of The Homer—the famously flawed car Homer designed personally in the classic episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what players are receiving. Not even receiving the Canyonero, the heavy-duty vehicle showcased in season 10. Rather, players will obtain the family's standard well-worn sedan, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an recognizable symbol of the series. And for players who pay attention to the game's car hitboxes, the trusty sedan shares the identical collision model as the Dominus.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the only cosmetic from the show coming to Rocket League. The event will additionally feature a set of objectives to earn additional rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. As detailed in a press release, the challenges will require participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ house, and drive a distance worthy of picking up the perfect donuts!"
While the full lineup of earnable items hasn't been revealed, here is what has been confirmed so far:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is any indication, it appears players will also get rims with a television showing the show's title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and rocket boosts inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
This event coincides with the major The Simpsons invasion of Fortnite, which brings a completely new playable area of the fictional town, as well as a month-long Battle Pass. This special Rocket League and Simpsons celebration launches on Saturday, Nov. 1 and concludes on November 17th.
